Streamr Round-Up, November 2022

Let’s take a look at what’s been happening at Streamr in the last few months, starting with Co-Founder Henri Pihkala’s summary of recent events:

Hi Streamrs,

There’s been a lot of things happening in the past few months that we’re excited to share with you.

We shipped a key upgrade to the Streamr Marketplace and Data Union Framework, which has brought new monetisation and multichain capabilities to both, enhancing the strategic possibilities moving into 2023 and beyond. The team enjoyed demoing these upgrades to the Web3 communities at ETHBogotá and Devcon Columbia, as well as keeping abreast with the latest Web3 trends.

Our pool of active Streamr Node Runners continues to grow, passing the 5,000 nodes milestone last week. This number is likely to continue to rise following the launch of Zonaris’s simple node management platform beta.

Streamr Marketing have launched a new referral app, StreamTeam. StreamTeam incentivises the community to compete in monthly marketing bounty contests to gain points and win DATA prizes. We hope you’re finding it helpful and fun!

Finally, I’m pleased to announce that the community’s own Lasse Kristiansen has joined Streamr as our new Head of Growth. We’re delighted to have Lasse continue his contributions working alongside Mark and Tom in the Streamr Marketing Team!

As always, thanks for the support!

Streamr and Data Union DAO ship monetisation upgrade

Streamr Round-Up, November 2022

For the past 6 months, we’ve been working with the Data Union DAO team to bring a new upgrade to the Streamr Marketplace, and launch version 3.0 of the Data Union Framework. The main new addition is that both are now multi-chain, starting with Polygon and Gnosis, and fully compatible with the Network’s Brubeck Milestone. This also means that Marketplace payments tokens can be freely chosen. Read more about this upgrade, and its strategic implications!

Zonaris node management platform launches

The Zonaris team have launched the beta version of their node management platform to make it possible to run a Streamr node in a few clicks. This aims to remove any technical barriers to launching a node and staking. Zonaris is currently offering a free trial to new users. Learn more about Zonaris in this AMA with their team, hosted by Streamr’s Mark Little.

RedStone and Streamr are changing the oracles landscape

For the last 6 months, the RedStone team have been using Streamr nodes as an essential part of their oracles. Previously, Streamr Nodes were used as an additional data broadcasting channel, but since it proved to be a reliable system, it has become the core channel for RedStone to deliver data to end users. We’re really excited to be working with RedStone and look forward to seeing where our cooperation will take us in the future. Read more in this blog from their team!

You will need to create an account, make sure you’re logged in, and vote using the Typeform link. If you hold over 1,000 PRE, you get a 10x multiplier on your vote.

Beta test the ChatApp

Calling all community beta testers—sign-ups are now open for you to be among the first to test and give feedback on the upcoming Streamr ChatApp. The ChatApp was conceived as a comparatively simple Web3 chat protocol to demo the Streamr Network’s capabilities. It has since evolved into something more substantial with interesting new features we can’t wait to show you. We’re still a way off releasing it yet, but make sure to sign up and keep an eye on your inboxes to hear when it’s time to test it.
